Library Look-ups

Library Pages (student workers) will be available to do look-ups in the materials the Greenwood High School Library  Media Center has in its collection during the regular school year (September-May). E-mail inquiries to Library Media Specialist Jan Owens at  jowens@greenwood.k12.ar.us . In 1997 the  students and staff working in the high school library completed a cumulative index of The Key, magazines published  from 1966-1996. Mrs. Sheila Miller has indexed individual issues since then. Surnames, local events, organizations,  schools and places are indexed. Through a grant from the Greenwood  Educational Foundation the library has  purchased the microfilm of the surviving issues Greenwood Democrat. The  current project is a local history index of the newspaper. Look-ups in this index will be available as issues are completed. Items being indexed include births, deaths, marriages, major news items, local elections, and general information about club and church meetings. Microfilmed issues include: scattered issues from 1926-1964 and complete issues 1965-1999. Photocopies of specific articles (must have issue date and page) are available from the Arkansas History Commission. The high school library does not have a microfilm photocopier.
